The largest wind farm in the world’s ultra-high altitude area is put into operation, Zoomlion equipment the legend of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau!

On January 1, according to the CCTV News broadcast, the world's largest wind power project in the ultra-high altitude area, the Nagqu Omatingga wind Farm in Tibet, was put into operation.  Zoomlion all-ground cranes, crawler cranes, concrete pump trucks and other equipment participated in the construction, helping to create a new energy project construction record in Tibet that was "started in the same year and completed in the same year", laying the foundation for the "good start" in 2024.

In addition, Zoomlion concrete pump trucks and other equipment also deeply involved in the construction of the wind farm, helping the project to complete the foundation pouring of 11 fans in 30 days, and completed the foundation pouring of all fans in September, and fully entered the fan hoisting stage, which effectively guaranteed the construction progress of the project.

Nagqu, Tibet is the highest prefecture-level city in China, known as the "roof on the roof of the world".  With an average altitude of 4,650 meters, Naqu Omatingga Wind Farm is the first 100 MW wind power project in Tibet Autonomous Region. It adopts 25 wind turbines with a single capacity of 4.0 MW, which is currently the largest single capacity wind turbine in China's ultra-high altitude area. The wind turbine hub height is 100 meters, the impeller diameter is 172 meters, the blade length is 84.5 meters, and the tower barrel height is 99 meters.  Maximum lifting weight 130 tons.

Faced with many unfavorable factors such as high cold and oxygen deficiency, muddy roads, large temperature difference between day and night, and windy weather, the lifting team selected Zoomlion ZAT18000H all-ground crane and ZCC16000 crawler crane as two "good hands", and seized the windless window period with early morning construction.  It created the record for the fastest construction speed of wind power projects in Xizang and ensured that all node plans were completed on schedule.

On July 7, Zoomlion Crane overcame the impact of heavy rain and lightning on the day and successfully lifted the first fan;  On October 19, after days of snowfall and strong winds, the local temperature plummeted to minus 10℃, Zoomlion Crane successfully completed the first lift of the snowy day since the project began;  On October 28, all 25 fans of the project were successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for the goal of full-capacity grid-connected power generation within the year.

"Zhonglian equipment has high adaptability to the working ground, good disassembly and flexible transition efficiency, and a high safety factor, generally speaking, in the case of high altitude and low temperature, it can completely overcome the difficulties we encounter."  The Zhonglian Xizang after-sales team has also provided us with reliable support."  Field equipment manager said.

At present, the Nagqu Omatingga Wind Farm in Tibet is officially put into full capacity, which has an important demonstration significance to promote the development and application of wind turbines in high-altitude areas and the large-scale development of wind power projects.  Under the rolling snow mountains, the beautiful and spectacular windmill is continuously transmitting electricity, providing about 200 million degrees of clean electricity per year, which can meet the annual electricity consumption of 230,000 people, and will effectively promote local rural revitalization and economic and social development.
